Supporting Our Community: How Care Plus Group is Here for North East Lincolnshire
When someone you love takes a fall at home, or when you're struggling to know where to turn for support, it can feel overwhelming.
You might wonder who to call, what help is available, or whether there's anyone out there who truly understands what you're going through.
The good news?
Right here in North East Lincolnshire, there's a team of dedicated professionals who wake up every day with one mission: to support you, your family, and our entire community.
Care Plus Group has been part of our local community since 2011, providing health and social care services that make a real difference to people's lives.
Whether it's helping someone stay independent in their own home, supporting carers who give so much of themselves, or simply being there when times get tough, this organisation is woven into the fabric of our community.
A New Chapter with Familiar Values
This past May, Lisa Revell stepped into the role of CEO at Care Plus Group. With nearly 30 years of nursing experience under her belt, Lisa isn't new to the organisation or to the challenges facing our community.
She's been involved with Care Plus Group since its formation in 2011, so she knows the people, understands the needs, and is passionate about the work being done every single day.
Lisa's background as a registered nurse means she's seen firsthand what matters most to families. She knows that quality care isn't just about medical expertise. It's about compassion, understanding, and being there when people need you most. Under her leadership, Care Plus Group continues to expand its services and find new ways to support the people of North East Lincolnshire.
What Does Care Plus Group Actually Do?
You might have heard the name Care Plus Group around town, but do you know the full extent of what they offer?
As a community provider of health and social care services, they're involved in more aspects of local life than you might realise.
Their services include community nursing, which brings professional healthcare right to your doorstep. They offer support to help people get back into employment, giving individuals the confidence and assistance they need to take that next step in their career. Their rehabilitation unit helps people recover their strength and independence after illness or injury.
But it goes beyond the traditional healthcare model. Care Plus Group is thinking differently about how to support our community, and that thinking aligns perfectly with the NHS's 10-year plan.
Care That Comes to You
The NHS's vision for the future is built on three key principles: going digital, providing more care in people's homes and neighbourhoods, and focusing on prevention. Care Plus Group is already living these values every day here in North East Lincolnshire.
Think about what this means for you and your family. Instead of always having to travel to appointments or spend hours in waiting rooms, more care can come to you. It means healthcare professionals who know your neighbourhood, understand the local challenges, and can provide support in the comfort of your own home.
Prevention is at the heart of everything Care Plus Group does. It's about catching problems early, giving people the tools and knowledge they need to stay healthy, and building a community where everyone looks out for each other.
A Safety Net When You Need It Most: The Falls Response Service
This winter, Care Plus Group is launching an exciting new service that could make all the difference for older residents and their families.
Falls are one of the most common reasons older people end up in hospital, and they can be frightening for everyone involved. But what if there was a better way?
The new falls response service is designed to help people who have fallen at home, preventing unnecessary trips to the hospital and getting them the right support quickly. If you or someone you care for has a fall, trained professionals can come to help, assess the situation, and provide the care needed right there in the home.
Care homes and community members will be able to access this service through a single point of access number: 256256. It's a number worth saving in your phone or writing down somewhere safe.
The beauty of this service is that it recognises something important: not every fall requires a hospital visit, but every fall does require care and attention. By providing this middle ground, Care Plus Group is helping people maintain their dignity, recover in familiar surroundings, and get back on their feet (literally) without the stress and disruption of a hospital admission.
Information about this service is being distributed to care homes across the area, and there are plans to make sure carers who regularly visit vulnerable individuals have postcards with all the details. After all, carers are often the eyes and ears of the community, and they need to know what support is available.
Tackling the Challenges We All Face
Let's be honest about something: life in North East Lincolnshire, like everywhere else, comes with its challenges.
We're all living longer, which is wonderful, but it also means more of us are dealing with complex health problems. Many people face loneliness, especially those who find it difficult to get out and about. And then there's the cost of living crisis, which has touched almost every household in one way or another.
Care Plus Group sees these challenges every day, and they're working hard to address them.
For those struggling with loneliness, they organise social clubs where people can connect, share a cup of tea, and enjoy some company. They provide support specifically designed for carers, recognising that those who spend their days looking after others need support too. And for people who can't leave their homes easily, they're exploring home visits to make sure no one is left isolated.

When it comes to the cost of living crisis, Care Plus Group is stepping up with practical help. Right now, they're running a campaign for clothing donations to help families who are struggling. They're also part of the conversation about warm spaces during winter, places where people can go to stay warm without worrying about their heating bills at home.
These might seem like small things, but to the person who receives a warm coat or spends an afternoon somewhere warm and welcoming, they're everything.
Bringing the Community Together
One of the most impressive things about Care Plus Group is how they think about reaching people. They know that not everyone is on social media, and not everyone knows where to find information about the support that's available. That's why they're committed to sharing information in multiple ways and working with other organisations to make sure the message gets out there.
Their staff team of approximately 850 people has been trained in basic life support. Think about that for a moment. That's approximately 850 individuals spread across our community who have the skills to potentially save a life in an emergency. It's an incredible investment in community safety.

Care Plus Group is also passionate about volunteering and the difference it makes. Volunteers bring fresh energy, diverse perspectives, and often have more time to sit and chat with someone who's lonely. They're the backbone of community care, and Care Plus Group values them enormously.
You're Not Alone
If there's one message that Care Plus Group wants everyone in North East Lincolnshire to hear, it's this: you're not alone. Whatever you're facing, whether it's a health concern, caring responsibilities, financial worries, or just the day-to-day challenges of life, there is support available.
