Sunday Assembly NE Lincs — A Festival of Connection, Creativity & Kindness
How Eve Darwood and Pete Cullum are bringing wonder, warmth, and shared purpose to Grimsby
Sunday Assembly NE Lincs is more than a meetup—it’s a nurturing space for reflection, community, and inspiration, led by two creative-hearted champions dedicated to belonging and possibility.
How It Started & Who Leads It
Sunday Assembly is a global non-religious movement for wonder and good, founded in London in 2013, with a simple mantra: *live better, help often, wonder more It brings people together through uplifting talks, music, and fellowship.
In North East Lincolnshire, the Assembly is guided by:
Dr Eve Darwood—a Professional Ethics and Worldviews teacher, Senior Mental Health Lead, Humanist Chaplain, SACRE member, and award‑winning educator committed to helping people overcome barriers and flourish.
"Pete Cullum believes that, as people, ‘We have more in common than that which divides us.’ He connected with Eve through the local spoken word and poetry community. Their shared creative roots shape the Assembly’s inclusive and heartfelt approach."
Together, they founded Sunday Assembly NE Lincs, drawing 30–50 attendees to gather on the first Sunday of each month at The Canopy Community Hub, Grant Thorold Park, Grimsby DN32 8BX
